power, money, status…
a giant prison,
all in exchange
for only…her soul.”

He should have given her wings to fly back to him with if he was truly worthy of her love.

Lol, there is always a catch…
This is deep
Very deep
Lovd the pic
U inspire me to write
Been there, done that. I was imprisoned in a castle, and I chose my soul, it is priceless.
YAY :]
sounds like an even 2013 exchange…to me.
totally
This is gorgeous, I seriously love reading your posts
I just…love your writing.
Personally, I think she should consider other offers
Great visual with the pic and a great powerful reminder that the price of some things is too high or not high enough depending on how you look at it. Great poem!
Just 5 lines, but the message was sent pretty loud and clear… beautiful piece. wish i could write brief pieces with large magnitude such as this.
Mystery!
May the price of her soul never be met, for someone else has already paid it.
Deep and poignant
Reblogged this on Picante Pero Sabroso.
Well said!
And she said “no thank you” I hope.
I find this applies to everyone, not just a woman. Objects become the focus of people’s lives, as do money, and your fame/name value/credit score. You become comfortable in a prison of collected denials. Only to realize that what you want, is something you have had in you your whole life… follow it.
I enjoyed this piece, simply powerful.
BRILLIANT. Thank you.
Your welcome. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
beautiful piece, and the photo worked so well, too. love this.
simple and deep…
I love your posts, Coco! They always make me want to argue with you. Thanks for the thought provocations.
I’ll write the post you are waiting for…the heartbreaking girl
xo
That’s my job, remember? Maybe we should have a Blog-Off!… on second thought, let’s not. You’d kick my ass!
A true story?
What does it profit a man (or woman) to gain the whole world and forfeit his (or her) soul? Great post!
I love that verse

This is nice, and a good reminder, a good shake to wake us up when we are caught up with material things, status quo, money and fame.
This sounds like what the devil has to offer. Too bad she and the rest didn’t foresee the prison that came with the offer. But Jesus breaks the bars of any prison to set these souls free, only if they want to be free that is…
awesome lines…:)…gave a prison…for soul
Perfect image match for your words. Succinctly powerful.
Indeed. So often the case.
This reminded me of Satan’s unsuccessful attempts to tempt Jesus.
Yes! me too.
