the phone

My phone didn’t ring
all day, all day
my phone didn’t ring all day.
You looked at your phone
all day, all day
wondering if you’d see the numbers that say my name
all day, all day
we waited.
Nothing happened
today—
all day.
My phone didn’t ring;
the sight of my name never appeared
across your screen
all day, all day
we wasted.
No spine behind your dreams
No vigor within my innards
all day, all…
…but tomorrow
is a new day
all day, all day—
is new.
Coco should be cheerful! Frowning all day is bad for the countenance.

If Coco were a water elephant she would sit upon Vincent Mars face and smoosh his hat.

It’s so true and how sad…2 people looking at their phones hoping the person they want to call will call them.
