I believe that Darwin would call this evidence of “Natural selection” at work. The gene for this smooth move will not be continuing on…

auto-correct sure hides the true intentions!

🙂 what do you mean?

well metaphorically and notoriously speaking, smartphones’ auto-correct feature often changes what a person intended to type into something supposedly “correct” in their own terms…

Typical. Sad, but true. Are there any real men left?

I didn’t see anything untoward in that message, but maybe I am a different breed of man…

true story!! telling a girl you wanna hang out and watch a movie is really a euphemism for something else. especially if you’re in college.

“Untoward” is not the word. It’s just unsexy communication. A 90 minute film is a *long commitment* for a lady if she has to put up with a guy she doesn’t like on a first day. Offer to take her for a drink. Also, if he’s too lazy and uneducated to write “do you want to” instead of his chosen, “do u wanna,” he’ll be too lazy and uneducated to open doors for her, and he’ll probably sit down first when they go to a restaurant. Thirdly, phrases like “come over” and “hang out” are just ridiculous. I’m not sure what “ya” and “yaaa” is …he must have a brain disorder, the poor man.

I’m glad I dated and got married before the age of the text message. Of course in the old days we did similar things, they just had be be said in person or over the phone.

So impersonal. I would much rather hear a voice than read a text. But I’m old-fashioned that way…

I’m reminded of a tshirt in the movie “Notting Hill”..this guy’s flatmate is trying to find the right shirt to wear..after many disposals he settles on one that says, “you are the most beautiful woman in the world” .. having tired of this choosing, he neglects to correct him when he sees the back of the sorry which says ” fancy a —-”
a very entertaining movie btw.. 🙂

@eatwithfatjoe : You can say, “I’m here to buy something for my sister.” She will think it’s strange that you are in her lingerie boutique to buy something for your sister, but you can reply, “My sister is living in China with her boyfriend for a year, and in China they don’t have good lingerie, so they asked me if I could buy her some lingerie and send it.” She will understand, as beautiful women often understand things like that; and a woman who works in a lingerie boutique is normally very beautiful, that is why I suggest you start there!” – Roman

I’m trying to imagine what text message I would say yes to. Maybe, “I’m on your doorstep. I have flowers. Should I ring the bell?”
