Ballerina Ballerina….why do you cry?
Why do you lay, pillow hugged tight,
why do you hide tonight?
[My speaking part is ended now, did the character touch your life?]
Ballerina Ballerina…you must get up, put up a fight
get on the stage and dazzle, you’ve got to dance tonight.
[This role I’ve grown so used to will bow and exit this stage— you call life.]
It’s you are no one, Ballerina,
[The curtains close, and you’re alone—this play has ended heartrending.]
it’s you or no one…tonight
[But your heart will not break]
No jewelry box below you, no one will do this for you,
no spring to make you bounce, no motor to make you prance
[your blood will not bleed]
You’re built of cayenne, Ballerina,
your heart is painted in gold.
He has to hate you, Ballerina,
his heart is jaded and cold
[you’re possessed with a sensation you will not feel pain]
It’s you are no one, Ballerina, it’s you or no one…tonight.
[Stuff it down deeper, no one can see.
Stuff your heart full of pretty paper, and tie it with a string,
a false gift fot the next one…]
You’ve got to dance tonight.
[I pray she sets you free.]

Very beautiful. Emotional. I was a ballerina at one time and I could relate to this piece perfectly. So many metaphors.

What does that mean?

You seem to have partial feeds enabled right now. This means in a feed-reader, one can only see part of the post (no pictures in the case of the format you use) and has to click through to the blog to read the rest. Hence, the request for full feeds. Check your Settings/Reading and choose ‘Full text’ in the ‘For each article in a feed, show ‘ option. Hope this helps. I love your blog!
