Hey Coco,Your post reminded me of my own great luck. After 12 years together, whenever we fall into a funk or get too angry, I remind myself that my husband is first my partner and best friend. He’s a damn good guy.
It’s so much easier to relate to him and feel compassion for him when I change my point of view from lover/husband and all the shoulds that implies.
cheers, bllu
Happily ever after doesn’t exist but love does and for a girl with a cayenne heart…hmmm, I am thinking that life with out passion and wild deeply felt love – to go with friendship, might just not be enough! π
Tried the “happily ever after” thing and it ended rather sadly (though, for the 32 years it lasted, it was worth it). There is no true love without true friendship.
A best friend as a lover is Happlly ever after. What a ride that is. I don’t see it as just challange free. I believe the best friend lover is anything but challenge free. Treat them like a best friend too and whoaaaaa.
Exactly. Uh, I feel like I should have a longer comment, like that isn’t enough, but all my possible responses just keep spinning back to “this is perfect, and exactly how I feel” Oh look, the comment got longer. π

The phrase happily ever after comes from old folk tales, not from reality.

I guess you actually could say it ended happily. I’m happy, she’s happy, we’re just not happy together π I appreciate the thought, dearest friend.
