Always trying to cover up the pain, suppressing your feelings yet when it wears off you still have the same problems

I lost two brother’s to booze. Drugs and booze killed them. A poem that is the truth for many. Hard to stop some people who desire self destruction. A powerful poem with a sad story.

My partner is an alcoholic. Been sober for over 4 years, the will to give up has to be stronger than the need to drink. We cannot control, cure and we sure are not cause for the drinking. Ivan

i had an alcoholic father – who eventually died of drinking. one can never, ever forget. and unfortunately for the person who loves them, it is damn hard to let go.
