The dictionary definition of muse and addict. My guess here is when it becomes counter productive as an excuse to not take action.

When the detached, glorious inspiration sparked from a respectful distance, degrades into a clinging necessity that usurps one’s own Self-sufficiency.

You have to use them for their purpose, inspiration. That is the difference between muse and addiction, obsession, lust, and love. You take the concept of the muse and breath in that concept its own life, after that it has little to do with them except in the abstract. And yeah delving too deep is potentially harmful.

A muse in marriage is definitely addictive. I wouldn’t say harmful, but very distracting.

None, probably. But one you enjoy, the other not so much. So it’s a timing issue, like a spark plug thing.
