A Simple Lesson with Mia
August 11, 2013 § 8 Comments
I took my three year old niece to see the new Disney film ‘Planes’ this afternoon. A simple dialogue between us, left me happy as I realized, “The break is the courage coming to life. It’s not the end. In fact…it’s only the beginning.” I sat in the theatre mesmerized. I wasn’t broken— I was brought to the edge of the cliff, where I am offered, new wings. I don’t have to do it on my own. I don’t have to be strong. I just have to be willing to accept the wings, and fly…
Mia: What’s happening?
Me: He gets new wings.
Mia: Why?
Me: Because he’s broken.
Mia: Why is he broken?
Me: Because he tried really hard
for something he wanted.
