His Worth

“Listen, you don’t understand me—I’m not a monster.”
His voice cracked and diamonds started to form in the tear ducts of his eyes. One fell upon his cheek slicing open his skin, exposing bright red drops of fear.
Ashamed, he quickly covered his cheek, holding in place the sharp diamond that had fallen from his eye.
I took his hand in mine, then took the diamond examining each of her sharp rich edges.
Yes! His worth was so much more than the price tag I ever could have placed on him.
So beautiful! Amazing imagery.. love it! *blessings*

But we ARE ‘monsters’! By the upside-down and backwards standards of Old Earth at least, which placed ‘ambition’ at the top of desired qualities in a man, and our ability to honestly and openly express PUL very close to the bottom . . . . ๐ Glad to see you apparently perceive the true relative value of such things ๐

Reminds me of a troll tale I have read as a child in which a girl cried pearls until she could not cry anymore – and after that she was an outcast as she could not even cry at sad moments like funerals.

What a good slave, willing to pay for his purchase price with his freakish abilities. I love how the imagery could take you anywhere.

There’s a story called The Fairies, and a girl has a spell on her which means that every word she speaks comes out as a flower or jewel, this kind of reminds me of it.

Yes! His worth was so much more than the price tag I ever could have placed on him. In that moment, he had the courage to show me his soul. He was not a monster. He was beautiful and strong. In that moment, I held him. I held him and he held me. We held each other. We surrended. He was not a monster. He was beautiful and strong, and I loved him.
